WireGrid for Windows is a pre-processor for the thin wire moment
method code called NEC. Although NEC allows the use of
surface patches it uses the magnetic field integral equation — thus
requiring closed surface structures when using surface patches. It is
often required to model an open structure, for example the body of a
car with non-conducting windows. Such surfaces are usually modelled by
constructing a wire mesh on the conducting surfaces.
This code automates the discretisation of these conducting surfaces in
terms of wire meshes for analysis in NEC and allows visual
feedback of the model structure as well as the positions of sources,
networks and field points. It also does some checking regarding
duplicate wires and closely spaced nodes — not making contact.
